Variety...the spice of life?

Variety...the spice of life?

One of the biggest traps we face is the upgrade.

The idea that variety is the spice of life sounds like it came straight out of a 1960s marketing pitch.

We are sold the bill of goods that the latest and greatest is automatically the best—even when we didn’t know we needed it until it hit the scroll.

Consumerism 101:

Change something small.

Repackage it.

Sell it.

When it comes to health, this mindset ruins us.

We’ve been conditioned to believe we’re permanently broken and that the pharmaceutical industry has a pill for every poor choice.

We chase the magic bullet that lets us live gluttonously with zero discipline and zero repercussions.

That is the problem.

Health isn't found in constant novelty.

A boring life is the exact environment required to generate real health and consistent physical results.

Too many variables create zero measurable outcomes because you have no idea which one is actually driving the deficit or the surplus.

Do the same right things, the same right way.

This is the success equation: Right actions over a long period generate wins.

More wins equal goals achieved.

If health is the goal, you follow the right plan for nutrition, fitness, and sleep for an insanely long period of time.

Not just to reach the finish line, but to sustain it.

The law works in reverse, too.

Do the wrong things for an insanely long period, and you forge a broken body.

There is no off-season.

There is no stopping unless you give up.

A boring life—one that cuts through the short-term, dopamine-driven trash of modern culture—is built on habitual choices that directly serve your standard.

The choice is yours: embrace the habits of the boring, or stay disappointed by the stimulus of the modern world.

Because in the end, variety might not be the spice of life at all.
